Today I’d like to share another exciting new finding from my latest scientific study, the International Lucid Dream Induction Study, which is the first study ever to investigate the effectiveness of a fairly new technique called The Senses Initiated Lucid Dream (SSILD) technique.
The SSILD technique is a fascinating technique that has a lot in common with mindfulness meditation. It involves performing several “cycles”, where you repeatedly shift your awareness repeatedly between visual, auditory and physical perceptions.
As with many other techniques, the SSILD technique is best performed in addition to Wake Back to Bed (WBTB), where you wake up after about 5 hours of sleep, do the SSILD technique, and then return to sleep.
Many people have reported success with the SSILD technique, but so far it hasn’t been studied scientifically and we haven’t known if it really is effective.
Findings from the ILDIS show that the SSILD technique is indeed effective for inducing lucid dreams. Even more exciting, the technique is about as effective as the Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD) technique, which is currently the most widely studied cognitive lucid dreaming technique!
